BBCL Home & Visiting Team Protocols (2026)

The Home Team Captain is the primary organizer for match-day setup.
Home team must:

Field & Setup

  • Ensure the pitch and outfield are safe for play.

  • Set up matting securely (no wrinkles, no loose edges).

  • Mark boundaries (cones/ropes) at league-approved distance (55–70 yards where possible).

  • Place stumps, bails, and boundary markers before toss.

  • Provide water/first aid access.

  • Remove debris, bottles, or hazards from the field.

Match Administration

  • Submit playing XI and substitutes to umpire (and/or CricClubs app) before toss.

  • Organize and conduct the official toss on time (per BBCL schedule).

  • Be fully in uniform (max 2 exceptions allowed per BBCL rule).

  • Supply at least one new match ball to the umpire before the innings start.

  • Manage covers/tarpaulins if weather threatens.

  • Provide scoring assistance if electronic or manual scorers are not arranged by league.

Post-Match Duties

  • Ensure all equipment (matting, stumps, cones, bottles) is cleared.

  • Field must be cleaned — failure results in 5-run penalty.

  • Confirm scorecard is completed and signed by captains & umpire.

2. Visiting Team Responsibilities

The Visiting Team Captain ensures compliance and readiness to play.
Visiting team must:

  • Ensure all players leave dugout and spectator areas clean.

  • Both captains must ensure sportsmanship and respect toward umpires.

  • Both teams must ensure the scorer's accuracy during the match.
